Bevy Commerce is looking for a Senior Shopify Developer to join its incredible team of talented developers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and guiding others to build enticing eCommerce storefronts that spark visits from shoppers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build custom Shopify themes from scratch.
  • Analyze and optimize the existing Shopify themes.
  • Solve complex challenges by utilizing the available Shopify APIs.
  • Write clean and well-documented code.
  • Create custom scripts and liquid templates to control page behavior.
  • Translating UI/UX design wireframes and text-based briefs to full-fledged Shopify themes.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement responsive design elements and ensure navigation across multiple devices.
  • Add functionality to theme components through storefront APIs, liquid programming, and metafields.
  • Improve page speed scores and overall theme performance.
  • Keep up with the latest Shopify updates and development principles to ensure theme compatibility.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of the Shopify ecosystem and platform.
  • Strong experience with the Shopify theme development process.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, SCSS, JavaScript, and its libraries, such as JQuery.
  • Strong knowledge of Shopify Liquid template language.
  • Must be familiar with responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and page score optimization.
  • Knowledge of Shopify's API, RESTful API, and ability to integrate plugins and applications.
  • Good understanding of SEO and CRO and how to use them to optimize themes for search engines.
  • Experience transforming complex layouts (PSD, JPG, or PNG) into pixel-perfect presentation-layer HTML5/CSS3 templates.
  • Deep understanding of eCommerce UX (User Experience) design best practices.
  • Basic knowledge of PHP or any other backend technology is a huge plus.
  • Must be able to create themes that adhere to web accessibility standards.
  • Familiar with version control systems such as GIT or SVN.
  • Must be able to deliver exceptional results under strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate with team members.
